Chairman Limanek calls the meeting to order at 7:00pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

Selectman Hall motions to accept as presented the November 21, 2017 meeting minutes, Vice Chairman Hebert seconds passes 3-0-1

Public Hearing** 169 & 187 Eight lots Road 61A- Public Hearing notice as read by Clerk David Hall. Present is Attorney Mel Chacharone. TA Smith states this is property owned by William Cronin. It is the second of several public hearings. Dept. heads feel there is no town use for this property. Vice Chair Hebert has no issues, he feels this is a good place for buildable lots. Chairman Limanek says this is the decision of the property owner, it is a positive for the town. Chairman Limanek motions to close the Public Hearing, All in favor passes 4-0. Vice Chair Hebert motions to not exercise the town’s option under MGL Chapter 61A for property located at 169 and 187 Eight lots Road, Map #28 Parcel 3 (7.20 acres), Selectman Hall seconds passes 4-0

2018 License Renewals: TA Smith states all are up to date with taxes and the 4 all alcohol restaurant licenses have passed inspections by John Couture and Fire Chief Belsito. Selectman Hall reads the list of renewals (attached to final minutes). Hearing no issues, Selectman Plante motions to approve as read the 2018 License Renewals in the Town of Sutton, Vice Chair Hebert seconds passes 4-0
TA Update:
- FY19 Budget process- capital plans are out to dept. heads and are due back December 14. Budgets will go to dept. heads on Dec. 7th with a return date of January 10th. There is already an increase of 12 additional students going to BVT with a cost of approx. $150,000. Health care will also be a big question.
Job Title change for energy manager Doreen DeFazio- TA Smith is planning to change Doreen’s title to Director of Sustainability/project manager. Her hours will also be increased up to 19 hours a week depending on the project she is working on.
Vice-Chair Hebert has no issues with title change. John supports entirely.
Selectman Hall says Doreen is always very professional, this is well earned.
Selectman Plante says Doreen is always well prepared and has done a lot for the town, Ray supports change.
Chairman Limanek says Doreen does extraordinary work for our town and is in support in change.
- Veterans Memorial Garden at the Senior Center- Thank you to Ron Benoit who recently helped redo the memorial garden at the Sr. center. Thankyou also to Matt Stencel and his dept. for assisting.
- Refunding Savings- TA Smith breaks down the actual meaning behind the 2 million dollar savings recently by the bond sales. It is not a lump sum of money coming to the town, it is anticipated savings of calling the bonds in early.
- Waters Farm luncheon scheduled for Wed. Dec. 13th at Waters Farm. The BOS are invited to attend.
- Town Hall Christmas party will be held Dec. 19th noon-1pm. The BOS are invited to attend.
- Girls Varsity Soccer Team will be at the Dec. 19th meeting due to their recent Division III State Championship.
Selectman announcements/Correspondence/Round table
- Vice Chair Hebert would like to have Matt Stencel in soon to give an update regarding roads. TA Smith states maybe in January when we have a few storms that have been dealt with. John also states with Christmas time here are there any needs. Can we set up a fund for next year to help out? John also thanks the Lions Club for the tasteful decorations on the common. The blue tree, which is there yearly, is to remember John Henn that was shot down in the Vietnam War.
- Selectman Hall says the Chain of Lights was great, nice weather. The tree lighting on the common was also a great event and thankyou to Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
- Selectman Plante said it was nice to see all the young new faces at the tree lighting. Ray also asks for an update on the Cell Towner at Town Farm Road. TA smith states supplies were delivered to our office as well as the highway barn for the project.
- Chairman Limanek thanks the Vallencourts for this years A Christmas Carol production. Jesses also thanks Sam Whittier and all that came out to the Chain of Lights. Also this past weekend was a collection at the center by the Dudley Gendron. They collected $2100.00 which will be used to help those in need. Thank you to St Marks for the monthly food drive, Kyla Boynes for a food drive at the school and Matt Stencel for dropping off enough cones to help keep the trolley area safe.
